Is there anything about President Obama worth your admiration, even begrudgingly? No. Even those things that appear sincere and believable have proven to be a fraudulent smokescreen hiding a dangerous anti-American agenda.

This wouldn't be a diversion, would it?
by larrryshrine October 7, 2010 12:53 PM EDT
You certainly don't speak for me. So stop with the rhetorical question and answer.

Nothing is wrong with good ole hard working folks. It's about time they got a chance to be heard. They can see how things are under the Obama regime. The Obama regime has NOTHING to run on. All they can do is attack others. I will take good ole country folks over Obama, any day. Thanks to the republican party, hard working Americans have a chance to be heard.

Yes, the Repubs are good at identifying the "hicks" of the country to do their dirty work. You must be one happy hick.

This was done in PA, and I doubt very seriously (although I don't know for sure) that any WVns had anything to do with the look or script of the commercial. True, there is nothing wrong with hard working people. What's wrong is that we work our patooties off but the corporations take or keep our hard-earned money, whether we work for them or pay the insurance cartels or endure their tariff-free crud they import from overseas and won't let Congress act. It took 10+ years for this economy to reach its breaking point. Please, give it more than 2 years with constant roadblocks to turn it around completely.

As always, the government controlled media will say and do anything to help the Obama regime. It's not going to work. ******************************* The economy began its nose dive when Democrats took control of Congress in January 2007. For the first four quarters of the newly Democratic Congress -- the four quarters of 2007 -- the annualized GDP growth rates were, in order, 1.2 percent, 3.2 percent, 3.6 percent and 2.1 percent. Each quarter showed positive growth, and the average for those four quarterly figures was 2.5 percent -- not much lower than the average growth during the previous 54 months....Officially, the recession started in December 2007. In the first quarter of 2008, GDP fell by seven-tenths of 1 percent. It rebounded briefly to 1.5 percent growth in the second quarter of 2008, then got really rocky in the third quarter of 2008. During that quarter and the following two, GDP fell by 2.7 percent, 5.4 percent and 6.4 percent, respectively. If you date the "nose dive" to the first quarter of 2008 -- the earliest quarter with negative growth -- that was a full year after the Democratic takeover.

Your own party is LAUGHING at you, poor thing.
by RenaeMe1972 October 7, 2010 12:57 PM EDT
If the gov't really controlled the media, would opposition be allowed? At this point in time, would Rush, Glenn, and co. be on the air? I've seen stories about bad Dems and Repubs. And what laws were passed in 2007 that took effect immediately to cause such a catastrophic failure in our economy? NONE. This was a long, slow boil that started with Reagan and heated up thru Clinton (yes, Clinton takes blame for this too) and erupted during Bush II.

REMEMBER THAT DICK CHENEY MADE A JOKE ABOUT THIS STATE AND INCEST.
by fleabag75 October 7, 2010 1:04 PM EDT
So basically you're saying the Bush economy is what we need? Really? I can see why your name is The-One-King. As in singular, alone, unaccompanied, a-capella. (good luck with that)

Morons. They can't even spell John Deere correctly. What a bunch of idiots. I'm sure the good people of West Virginia will enjoy knowing how they are seen by the Republican Party. And these birdbrains want people to really believe they represent the working class of this country? What a joke.

The problem is Democrats are no better. I say that as a member of the Democrat party.
by buckeyekelly October 7, 2010 12:11 PM EDT
Two points: 1. You can't find a real person to illustrate your point of view? Is that because your point of view or point of the advertisement is THAT far from the people you're trying to dupe? 2. In an economy like this, why wouldn't this senate candidate want to create JOBS in West Virginia? This campaign OUTSOURCED jobs. Regardless of the descriptors used, there was an opportunity to pump money into a local economy (permits for shooting, highlighting one of the small businesses Republicans supposedly support, actors, caterers, editors, etc).

Definition #2 from the Urban Dictionary: Hicky - a result from having a vaccuum cleaner for a mate. having something suck continuously on your neck until all the blood rushes to that spot and resulting in a "bruise-like" black and purple mark "d&&& yo that bi&&& is like a hoover"

It's a bit like McCain saying "complete the danged fence". Just playing to the simpletons.

There was a time when news organizations would not allow themselves to be used by one campaign against another but CBS decides this negative, petty attack given to CBS news admittedly by a Democrat is news? I don't think so. Whoever at CBS decided to go with this is a partisan, plain and simple.

It's difficult knowing you're being laughed at by your own party, isn't it?
by RenaeMe1972 October 7, 2010 12:52 PM EDT
CBS isn't being partisan, it's just reporting that yet another arrogant politician is belittling the very people he claims to want to represent. When Dems pull this crud, they get spotlighted too. Don't run for office if you don't respect all of the people you want to represent. And why not make the commercial in WV with WVns?
by mswolfestock October 7, 2010 11:59 AM EDT
John Raese is totally out of touch, much like John McCain. Raese comes from a wealthy family - he's had everything handed to him his entire life. He's arrogant and he has nothing in common with working people in WV. A pampered out of touch rich man is the last thing that West Virginia needs. Raese, for some twisted reason, seems bent on un-doing everything that the late Senator Robert Byrd did for this beautiful (but distressed) state. West Virginians are used to adversity and hard times, but I fear for their future if they fall for Raese's lies.

It's difficult knowing this CBS "news" is all the argument you are left with for the Democrats isn't it?
